Watch Online Video via youtube-dl not working anymore with MPC-HC 1.8.3.8

Since I am new here, I want to thank you for your hard and great work, frist. A system isn't complete without K-Lite! :-)

But I have a Problem right now: Since the latest Pack (14.6.0) watching via MPC-HC and youtube-dl (also latest Version) doesn't work correctly anymore. If I install the former stable Pack (14.5.5), everything works fine again.

The results that youtube-dl gives for that URL contain some incompatible streams. Those need to be ignored so it selects a working one. Previous version selected a working stream by pure luck.

Thank you for the detailed clarification! I appreciate your work and I am very keen to try the next version.
The stream saving functionality is a very usefull addition (especially for people, who are not firm with the command line but also for faineants like me :-) and integrates very well in mpc's youtube-dl support.

P.S.: I don't know, how you exactly realize the call of youtube-dl, but for me it works with the parameter "-f (best)" to get the stream with the best quality on spiegel.tv.
But it seems to be more problematic on youtube, some high quality streams are only available separated ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=696sbihc3No ...fails also in the old mpc version...proper for you explanation...). Here the highest quality may only be achieved by sorting and picking the correct streams...
Hm...I'm sure you are deeper in the topic but maybe it helps...

P.P.S.: I played a bit around: "-f bestvideo+bestaudio" does the job, but generates always separate files (since youtube-dl needs ffmpeg or avconv to mux them). For me that wouldn't be a problem... Maybe there could be an option in the save dialog like "Force joined/one file for video and audio (may reduce quality)" or so.

In case of streaming, it gets JSON output from YDL with details of all streams. MPC-HC then selects one. It supports playback of separate audio stream.

In case of download it currently uses a single file stream, for the simple reason that YDL names separate files in such a way that they can't be loaded automatically by MPC-HC. It for example also uses .webm for opus audio files. If it would use an audio extension then it could be played without remuxing, as MPC-HC can load separate audio files if they are named same as video file.

Both links now work correctly with version 14.6.1

I came across the same file renaming problem and you are right: It's better to make it just working. If i wanna download the high quality, I should simply use the command line and youtube-dl...

MPC-HC seems to have problems with URL parameters now.
An example is this Vimeo video: https://vimeo.com/15829593
The link, youtube-dl gives back, has parameters and doesn't work in the latest version of MPC-HC and the version before, but it did before.

Has been fixed. Will be available in next update.
