MPC-HC 1.8.0.0 crashes playing .IFO files from hard disk
MPC-HC version 1.8.0.0 appears to have a problem playing .IFO/VOB VIDEO_TS folder sets from hard disk. I loaded a VIDEO_TS.IFO in it after updating K-Lite Codec Pack 14.4.5 and the first thing I did was test loading .IFO files. MPC just sits there Not Responding before it eventually just crashes and leaves memory. It still plays the .VOB files but not the .IFO files. I tried 2 different VIDEO_TS folders and got the same result. So, there seems to be a problem with MPC-HC version 1.8.0.0 playing .IFO files.
I still need to do some more testing. Maybe the problem is on my end. First thing, of course, is regress back to the previous version and make sure that still work.
Thanks!
EDIT: It's not the fault of MPC. It's the fault of the updated LAV filters, which, I believe, caused the last DVD playback problem I posted on this forum. After thorough testing, I finally used the cumulative update pack to individually update everything but the LAV filters, thinking they might be the problem this time, too. Updating everything else works. Updating the LAV Filters to version 0.72-12-g14744 caused it to break.
So, the problem is with the LAV filters again.
Thanks!

Just tried the 14.4.7 Update to update the LAV filters. MPC resumes playing VIDEO_TS content from VIDEO_TS.IFO.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: MPC-HC 1.8.0.0 crashes playing .IFO files from hard disk
Is this on playing back IFO/VOB DVD content or on a container file like MP4? Or is this on an audio file? I tested it just now on my set up with IFO/VOB DVD content and rewind didn't exactly behave "normally" but it didn't crash MPC. The first press of Decrease Speed didn't appear to do anything. Subsequent presses eventually got reversal of video with increasing reversed speeds.
I tried pressing the button several times one after the other, too, and didn't experience a crash then either.
Oh, try updating the Codec Pack to the latest release. 1.8.2 is the latest release of MPC in them. The original pack containing 1.8.0's LAV filters caused playback of IFO files to crash MPC. But, updated K-Lite Codec Pack releases fixed this.

I watch the format of MKV and AVI.
Give a link to 1.8.2 I will update and check if the bug is fixed or not

Here is the update to K-Lite Codec Pack 14.4.7.
https://codecguide.com/klcp_update.htm
Since it's an update, you will need a pre-existing full K-Lite Codec package already installed. But, you would have that already, most likely. Unless you only installed MPC by itself. If you just installed MPC by itself, I don't know if this update package will help you or not.

Re: MPC-HC 1.8.0.0 crashes playing .IFO files from hard disk
Yeah, the LAV filters seem to, every once in a while, cause playback problems with MPC. The last time, which was also my first time, posting such an issue, the problem was with a bad LAV filter update.
The really good news is when I post such issues, they're generally addressed in a matter of days. So, kudos to the development/tech support team.
