Thumbnails for shortcus of videos?

Is there a way to get thumbnails to show for .lnks of videos? So that the thumbnail displays as if I was looking at the original video file itself? Someone said k-lite does this but after installing it I still do not see this.

Shortcuts should automatically get the thumbnail of the file its points to.

These are the thumbnail related Registry keys for .lnk from clean Windows install:

Thank you, I think I've made some progress. These two reg keys were missing, so I've added them. Now, when I double click and run a video shortcut, it will now generate a thumbnail for the shortcut. Although it is not doing this automatically when I enter a folder for some reason.

Edit: It looks like some .lnks are having their thumbnails auto-generated when I visit a folder, others require me to double click and run the video before they generate. Odd, but I guess this is as good as I'm gonna get.

Remove the thumbnail cache and reboot.

Start > Run > cleanmgr.exe > Thumbnails
