videos sound only without using win10 default player
i have installed K-Lite Codec Pack ,updated to the latest win10,and adjusted with Codec Tweak Tool all reset.
but only win10 video player can play normally. other players including MPC-HC,have no image.
It has been a while but i cannot really bear the inconvenience of it now!
and my wallpaper engine cannot play video format as well, sounds only.
wish anyone would know sth about it. THX!

Re-install your sound driver.
Also check if the correct device ("speakers") is set as the default audio device. Classic Control Panel > Sound

Can you copy this information here:
Codec Tweak Tool > Generate Log
There is probably a problem with your graphics driver. Update that.

wonder if this info helps

Re: videos sound only without using win10 default player
I see you have an Optimus system (Intel + NVIDIA). Those often have weird problems when the drivers don't work well together.
In the NVIDIA control panel you can choose which GPU should be used by default, Intel or NVIDIA. Changing that may fix the problem.

Re: videos sound only without using win10 default player
I manually disabled my nVidia GTX760M from device manager, it seems like it was using the Intel graphic card already ,nothing changed.
If I choose to run with the nvidia card (since intel card cannot be disabled),it didn't help either。

Re: videos sound only without using win10 default player
Optimus works as follows: the NVIDIA driver decides per application if the NVIDIA GPU should be used, or if the work is passed directly to the Intel GPU. If the NVIDIA GPU is used, then its output is passed to the Intel GPU, which renders it on the screen. The Intel GPU can't be disabled, because the screen is connected to that.
You should not disable the NVIDIA GPU. You can configure when it should get used and when not.
My suggestion would be to re-install the NVIDIA driver. During installation there is an option to reset settings to defaults, enable that.
