madVR settings for live action bdmv videos required
Good day to you admin. What madVR settings should I use for live action BDMV (BDISO) videos? I would appreciate if you could give me advice for optimal settings for my GTX 760 reference card. I am asking for settings improvement because ever since I have windows 10, the highly detailed "grain effect" found on live action Blu-rays looks a bit blurred compared to the way it was on windows 7. In other words, I feel like I am not seeing the video in its original quality...windows 10 seems to be doing some stupid "smoothing". I have the same videos and I know the grain was super sharp on win 7. I should also mention I use YADIF (but I cant really see a difference, should I use it anyway?). Thanks.

That GPU is relatively old, so you probably can't use settings much higher than the defaults.
You should not need YADIF, because deinterlacing is normally also done by the video renderer. That may improve quality. Most Blu-rays are progressive, so deinterlacing isn't needed.
Do you have font scaling enabled in Windows 10? Try disabling that to see if it makes any difference. If it does, then I can look up a solution for you.

The JPBD's I have are interlaced. Can you please tell me what are the differences between madVR deinterlacing and YADIF deinterlacing in theory. My friend tells me that I should use YADIF for watching my precious http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/VIZL-1270
Can you tell me why does madVR deinterlace it to only 30 fields per second?
YADIF deinterlaces it to 60 fields per second. (says Ctrl+J)
I can't decide which looks better. madVR deinterlacing looks cleaner, while YADIF moves slightly smoother but has ghosting... I'm comparing that solely by watching at Miku.
By the way, Miku is the sweetest twintailed angel I've even seen. She is so adorable...

YADIF runs on your CPU, while hardware deinterlacing is done by your GPU. Hardware acceleration is usually better quality.
Madvr has different deinterlacing modes. You can toggle between them with Ctrl+Alt+Shift+T.
