I have a video file with subtitles, but as it turned out MPC is its subtitle, the video is fine.
MPC 1.7.16.2
Windows 10 x64 17134.48
MediaInfo about the file

mediainfo:

With the help of VLC, the video is played back with subtitles normally.

MPC does not support WebVTT subtitles.
