MPC won't play any video.
Video is garbled, and makes a square of garbage in upper left corner. Audio plays normally.
all video formats.
I'm running:
Win7 as a guest in VirtualBox.
This has worked before in the exact same config.
I tried to post an image, but it just looks like a blank screen inside of MPC.
Thanks.

Re: MPC won't play any video.
I think I have this fixed now...
On "Windows 7 Enterprise N" windows media player is not installed.
I had to download Microsoft Media Enhancement for Windows 7 and install it. That action gave me Windows Media Player, and, most importantly, enhanced video renderer.
I went into MPC|View|Options|Playback|output|Video Renderer, and selected "Enhanced Video Renderer", just like Admin told me, above.
It works now.
Thank you very much Admin.
Here is the text on the page which will give you the download link. Put this in your search bar:
Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1 (KB968211)

Re: MPC won't play any video.
Correct, the "N" versions of Windows do not contain most of the media related components. Those can be installed with the Media Feature Pack.
Alternatively, you can also select the "System Default" renderer, which equals the old VMR-7 renderer. That renderer and the basic EVR renderer work best in virtual machines. The more advanced renderers may give issues due to limitations and bugs in the graphics drivers of the VM.
