As the title says, I wonder, when will support for windows 7 finally be permanently dropped?

There are no plans for that at all. 40% of the world is using Windows 7, including myself.

If you mean the much older Windows XP, then 13.8.0 is the last version that supports that. Version 14.0.0 and onward will require Vista or newer.

LAV Filters now finally dropped support for XP with the release of 0.71.
