Playing Audio through computer sound card
Can anybody tell me how to play 5.1 sound on my computer?
I have configured and tested my RealTek system to simulate 5.1 surround and this works.
I read somewhere that you can use the Tweak Tool to set the output to the computer.
I have tried changing some of the possibilities in Tweak Tool > (Configuration:) Audio Output
This does not work, although I might be doing something wrong.
It also seems that the tool does not remember the settings as they are always in default when I open this box.
There are so many variables that I do not know where to begin.
I have also noticed that in the log Speaker conf.: 2.0. Can I change that (that might solve the problem)?
I would like to use Media Player Classic for most purposes.
But I would also like to use the ability of my PC.

Re: Playing Audio through computer sound card
No, it defaults to "keep existing settings", which simply means it won't change any of your current settings (that you might have manually applied in the various codecs). It also seems that the tool does not remember the settings as they are always in default when I open this box.
If you want your Realtek driver to mix the audio, then you should select "same as input" in the Codec Tweak Tool.
Re: Playing Audio through computer sound card
Thanks for this. I will try it. Shamefully I will admit that I have uninstalled the Codecs and installed the Media Player as a stand alone and managed to get everything working. I will now reconsider reinstalling the codec pack and see if I can get it to work.

Re: Playing Audio through computer sound card
The codec pack contains a newer version of the player, so it is definitely worthwhile.
