THE WASAPI Exclusive & Volume

Hello,everyone!
There are two problems need your help:

It doesn't work,The wasapi output.

When using the Internal Audio Renderer and WASAPI Exclusive mod ，I heard nothing but silent.


02. I kown my notebook's sound card Driver are not broken,

when I play some mp4 format files (NOT ALL) with [mpc-hc + LAV Video+ ffdshow audio decoder], I do heard LITTLE SOUND,

Obviously, I don't forget turn The Audio Volume to 100% .

THE WASAPI Exclusive mod completely can't work , so I ues the DirectSound.

Codec Tweak Tool > Fixes > Reset Windows Mixer settings

Codec Tweak Tool > Audio Output > select correct speaker configuration

Thanks,I found some file is 5.1 surround sound MP4 file.

But my Other files is stereophonic sound MP4 file，I play the files heard LITTLE volume and nomal volume，I don't kown how to solve the problem.

Aften I complete the steps ,the WASAPI Exclusive mod can't work, agian.

1) Is the volume correct when using DirectSound? Please answer my questions with as much details as possible, otherwise I can't help you. Once DirectSound works properly, we can focus on WASAPI.
2) How many speakers are connected to your computer?
3) Which files have low volume? The ones with 5.1 or the ones with stereo?
4) Is the volume low during the entire video, or does it go up and down?
5) Are all sounds low volume, or just the voices?

1) The volume is not correct when using DirectSound.

2) I usually use the headphone connected to my laptop.

3）The flies with stereo

4) Partial video,it go up and down

5) All sounds

Re-install the codec pack and use LAV Audio decoder instead of ffdshow.

Windows Control Panel > Sound > Speakers > Properties > Enhancements > disable all

Should I enable volume normalization for the audio output, that is the problem I found.

For example, I usually use winamp(+ASIO output) to play music, and I also use the USB headphone amp,
a. When I paly music , I need THE 40% volume

b. When I play the mp4 files without enable volume normalization, I need turn the volume to 60%

c. When I play the mp4 files with enable volume normalization, I need do nothing, just left it to 40%

Volume normalization can sometimes cause the perceived volume to go up and down. The Loudness Equalization enhancement usually works pretty good.

Then THE WASAPI Exclusive mode also don't work, how to solve this problem?

There can be a lot of different causes for that problem.

First thing to check is the Windows settings. Control Panel > Sound > [Device] > Properties > Advanced > Exclusive Mode > both options must be enabled

Also use "24 bit, 48000 Hz" as default format.
