Play DVD video with k-lite player, system got the issue of hanging on

Hi,

Play DVD video over night and set full screen with K-Lite player, system got the issue of hanging on.
Disable of all Intel Power function still got the issue of hanging on.
But the issue not exist with KMP / Cyber Link Power DVD.
And we've copied the issue on ASUS NB with CPU i3 7100.
Could you give some suggestion? Thanks!

No problems in the log.

You said it happens over night. Does that means it only happens after playing several hours? Or did the screen turn off eventually? Or even sleep mode or hibernation?

And I assume it only happens with DVD and not with normal videos?

Yes, it only happens after playing several hours, and system got the issue of hanging on. And it only happens with DVD video files. Regarding this issue, do you have any suggestion or on this?
Is there features can try to disable to test , especially the default setting compare to KMP or Power DVD? For example hardware accelerate.

One setting that you can try is:
MPC-HC options > playback > output > Reinitialize when changing output

Does this DVD repeat by itself, or do you have repeat enabled in the player?

Yes, I have repeat enabled in the player.
Does that means I need to try disable "Reinitialize when changing output" this item for test over night?

No, I have no yet tried to reproduce it. And even if I could reproduce, it is unlikely something I can fix.

When the whole computer freezes, it means something goes wrong in a low-level part of the system. For example a driver (graphics/sound) or data reading stalls. So somewhere outside of the player.

Some other things that can try or test:
1) Copy the contents of the DVD to your harddrive. You can then play it with MPC-HC by opening the video_ts.ifo file.
2) Seek to just before the end of the movie and test if it repeats correctly. Maybe it already fails there.
3) Check if a newer firmware is available for your DVD drive
4) Update the graphics drivers

Renderer Settings > Reset > Reset to optimal renderer settings.

We’d like to understand if the "Reset to optimal renderer settings" has been changed in any way?

Yes, that preset has changed. It no longer enables "Full Floating Point Processing", as that isn't compatible with all graphics drivers. It mostly has issues with Intel GPUs.

I recommend to use the default renderer settings. Optimal is more likely to cause problems than actually improve anything.

I got the K-Lite v1378 Mega before, but I can't find v1378 this version on webside now.
Could you help to check why this version doesn't have on webside?
Could I know if changed the "Reset to optimal renderer settings" has any side-effect?

It wasn't a recent change. The preset was changed over 7 months ago. But that doesn't change any existing settings when updating.

The changes fix your problem. Meaning it won't enable the 'bad' setting if you would apply the preset now.

I still recommend using the "default" renderer settings.
