Blu-ray playback issues (H264 only)
Description, specific situation, Windows and Codec Pack -version:
I have successfully configured my PC for Blu-ray playback. WVC1 playback is fine, but H264 playback is bad.
- Tested Blu-ray: Dr. No (EAN: 6 438044 111064) (It's currently my only Blu-ray encoded with H264, perfectly unscratched.)
- Framerate is stable 23.976fps
- Processor usage is stable ~22 % (four threads used)
- Picture has artifacts, weird blurring and color changes all the time during playback.
Software:
Windows XP SP3 32-bit, K-Lite Codec Pack v13.7.5 Mega
Other details:
- Using FairMount 1.1 for decrypting Blu-rays. I'm a bit puzzled: it should not be a problem because if it wasn't able to decrypt the Blu-ray, then I guess that it would not playback at all. But, could it be that FairMount 1.1 can't decrypt H264 correctly? This is the last question that comes to my mind.
- There's nothing wrong with audio signal, both of my WVC1 and H264 Blu-rays are using AC3 for audio.
Tried solutions:
- Tried different settings for LAV filters: with / without HW acceleration
- Tried using ffdshow instead
- Tested playback on MPC-HC and DVBViewer

Re: Blu-ray playback issues (H264 only)
Correct, it seems that FairMount did a half-way decryption for that Blu-ray. Thanks! Now I can watch both WVC1- and H264-Blu-rays without problems.
