Him
I was wondering how do you know the filters installed in the K-lite standard are working in Windows 10. Since win 10 came out I have been avoiding it because at the time K-lite was not supported in win 10. But now I installed win 10 and was able to install K-lite and started to play my FLac files, but how do I know Klite is doing the processing. Prior I knew win 10 supported flac, it was a new feature, but I noticed that my files were being converted to MP4a which is lossy, and I didnt want my files to play lossy, so I went back to Win8.So when I was listening to a file, I opened task manager and neither filter LAV audio or LAV Splitter was launched. Am I missing a process I need to do to get it to do the processing in win 10, any Ideas?....

Thanks Stephen

WMP uses Media Foundation to decode FLAC files. It does not use (or need) anything from the pack.

It shouldn't convert anything, except maybe when you try to transfer the files to an external device like a phone.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, so what you are saying, since I use WMP I have been installing the K-lite group solely for hi res audio playback and I have not needed to install it. Do you know if I am playing FLAC in full hi-res sound with WMP or if not what player would? I have liked WMP because of the features, such as the enhancements (graphic equalizer) available the interface and the ability to make the interface small size displayed on the monitor, but if I am not playing hi-res then I am up for suggestions to switch.

Thanks

Stephen
