I support raiding the XP grave at night keeping its spirit alive by whatever means possible. Who cares if an XP kernel is hacked to continue receiving Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 updates until 2019? Never before has an Operating system seen such interest as this, come hell or high water..xp lives within the enthusiastic user's dark domain! pirat In case there is any doubt about the legitimacy of this claim, do a search on xp market share and you will see, as of this posting, that XP is still more popular than even Windows 8.1! It's the 3rd most popular OS today even 3 1/2yrs after MS tried to kill it, alas, to the unwary masses.

I dunno about anyone else, but I like it, it supports my nostalgic, no money making, harmless way of thinking and I never have to worry. I'm always online with it, never been violated, and will continue as I always have! Long Live XP!! ..(and don't even get me started on Vista either Evil or Very Mad

The current version of the codec pack will continue to work on XP forever!!! Just future versions will not, because there are no longer any codec updates that are relevant to XP.

In case of K-Lite, the marketshare of XP is only 3%. Vista has 0.5%, Windows 8.x 8%, and Windows 7 and 10 are both above 40%.

ok well, in NOT the case of K-Lite, currently XP is still edging out 8.1 in overall marketshare use with 6.47% to 5.97% respectively. The third highest still! Too bad those sorry but dedicated XP souls out there are not using your excellent codec package(s). Maybe overall use of XP would be higher still. Razz

But what's the point of updating on XP if there's nothing going to be actually improved apart from version number? It's like having the latest version for the sake of having the latest version. The latest pack works perfectly on WinXP, so there's no need to upgrade. I'm sure he'll keep a separate version downloadable for XP users.

Older versions can be downloaded just as easily as the latest version, so a XP compatible version will remain available.

High quality video playback requires a modern system and those usually don't run such an old OS, hence different statistics.
