1355 screenshot bug
1355 has a screenshot bug. Save Image As PNG now saves snap from inside the player window with subtitles. That has never happened before, this is unacceptible. Until now I had version 1335.
Please fix it. The "Save Image" should save a snap of the video stream in original size!

Re: 1355 screenshot bug
I assume you are using MadVR. That now has options to control how screenshots are made, and at which moment during the rendering process.
madvr settings > rendering > screenhots
madvr settings > rendering > screenhots
Re: 1355 screenshot bug
Quick question.
Which one is better? EVR or MadVR. I keep hearing MadVR but I don't actually know if it's a better choice compered to EVR (which is the default choice).

Re: 1355 screenshot bug
@Admin, Thank you for the info! Im sorry if my question was a bit too quick, I honestly had no idea a new screenshots option was added, because I usually never tamper with madVR settings. All my anime is in 1080p 17-40 Mb/s, so I just leave madVR on default. By the way, I am a K-Lite Codec Pack user and fan since 2007! Thanks for all your work!
@Xemidra, MadVR is superior to any other video renderer. I use it for the best quality, because I am using my gaming PC for watching and archiving blu-ray anime and Hatsune Miku concerts. (*if you dont know what is anime and who is Hatsune Miku, just google "Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2016 Resonate", and for anime google "Kantai Collection OP", you will get the idea by then.)

MadVR is "better" as it allows more control over how things are rendered. If you just choose MadVR without changing any settings you should just choose EVR (cp), which is one of the reasons it's default. MadVR also uses a lot more system resources depending on what you use and has an annoying exclusive fullscreen mode enabled by default(which you can disable) which will alienate a lot of users.
EVR (CP) is what you should go for if you "just want it to work" because it's the most efficient and the least prone to bugs since it's part of Windows.

Re: 1355 screenshot bug
Yes, MadVR can enhance the quality of the video compared to other video renderers. Particularly when the video needs to be resized, because MadVR has very advanced scaling algorithms.
The reason why MadVR isn't default is because it requires a decent GPU. For its best algorithms you even need a high-end GPU. Another reason is that it requires manual configuration for "optimal" results. It is highly dependable on the performance of the GPU, and other factors like screen resolution, so it is nearly impossible to do automatic configuration right now.
There will be some settings in the installer soon that should make it easier to configure the most important settings of MadVR.

Oh i'm actually curious about that installer configuration. Hopefully it will make madVR more accessible for the average user. It would be a good idea to also put examples of what kind of hardware you would need for the options you choose, or at least some kind of indication(a low to high bar, similar to how madVR shows it's sharpness, aliasing etc?) on how much GPU power it's gonna require.

Re: 1355 screenshot bug
It won't be that detailed. Certainly not initially. Performance requirements depend on too many factors to be able to accurately predict what a system is capable of. For example the screen that is connected during installation might have a different resolution that the one that is used during playback. Plus I have no full knowledge of the hundreds of different GPUs that exist. Other benchmarks are not representative for performance differences in MadVR.
There might possibly be a help file with examples based on user feedback and other sources. But that will take a while since very few users actually give feedback.
