Low Volume while using HyperX Headset

Hello!

I am getting low volume from videos while using the HyperX Revolver S headset connected via the USB dongle. I of course checked the volume slider on the dongle, and it was maxed out. Please be aware this is not happening while using other programs ex: winamp or games, or even while using the default Windows video player.
Strangely enough this never happened to me while using my old HyperX Cloud II headset

I´m using Windows 10 1607 x64 and K Lite Codec Pack 13.03.

Games and music are usually only stereo sound. Movies are usually surround sound. Mixing that to stereo (for your headphones) can result in low volume. I see that your codecs are currently configured for 5.1 audio output. Try changing that to stereo with the Codec Tweak Tool.

Another option is to enable volume normalization in MPC-HC settings (on audio switcher page).

Thanks! Normalization did the trick. However the fact remains that this only happens with the new headset, and is not happening with the old one (I tested them again without the normalization option). Maybe there is a difference caused by the different Soundcard / DSP in the USB dongle, who knows...

The driver settings of the headset might provide options on how it handles the audio.You can also try without the usb dongle, which acts as an external soundcard.
