Karaoki and windows 10
Can someone please help me resolve the codec issue when using karaoki and windows 10? Cannot seem to get the correct settings for the codecs for videos to play?

Videos should play with default settings. Do they play in MPC-HC?
What kind of videos are they?
Right-click on file > MediaInfo

Re: Karaoki and windows 10
They are regular .Mp4's, they play on every other program on the laptop, quicktime, windows media player, vlc, but will not play in karaoki, ... it either crashes with some codec packs, or it simply says bad file and remains open, with other codec settings... I cant find the right settings to get it to play. It used to play just fine on my other windows machines, it has played before on this windows 10 machine, but since reloading windows 10, and starting fresh... no codecs seem to work to allow karaoki to play video files... and since nearly all karaoke is an mp4 now, I cannot work!

It has to play already with default settings. It really seems like a bug in their program. If it crashes, look in the Windows Even Viewer. That should contain some information about the crash. What is the "crashing module"? That is usually the place where the problem is.

Ill take a look, I loaded it onto Windows vista and xp and it works great. On my friends windows 10 it also works great. On my brand new windows ten it wont play mp4 videos at all. It will crash with k lite codec, but not with CCCP (still wont play videos), also doesnt crash with other small codec packs (but wont play either). Only crashes with k-lite.

Test the files with GraphStudioNext tool. That behaves exactly the same as standard DirectShow players.
VLC and QuickTime use their own private codecs. Windows Media Player uses Media Foundation by default for MP4 files. So these players are not representative for the expected behavior of karaoki.

GraphStudioNext is included in the codec pack (Full/Mega). You can also download it here:

If the files also have problems in GraphStudioNext, then please upload one of the files for me to test with.
