Problem with .mov files in Windows Movie Maker

I just installed the K-Lite pack in order to have the codec for my .mov files that I take on my iphone.  It worked, but when I put the file into Windows Movie maker, it automatically goes into the audio section instead of the video.  It plays fine, but no image.  what am I doing wrong?  I'm technologically challenged, so please speak in "first grade" for me.  :-)

Try renaming the file to .avi that might trick movie maker into accepting it as video.

Yeah, I tried that just now, and no seegar. Any other suggestions?

Which version of Windows and which version of Movie Maker?
Does this file play correctly with Windows Media Player?

windows vista. Not sure of which version of Movie Maker. Plays fine. Not certain if it's through windows media player though. I think it plays through quicktime.

In movie maker go to: Tools > Options > Compatibility
Enable LAV Video and ffdshow
