High speed play back problems Empty High speed play back problems

Post by omar_bakly95 Fri Oct 14, 2016 6:10 pm

At the end of this thread I will post a generated file from codec tweak tool that shows My system configuration and the codecs I use (the latest)
First I like to watch videos in various  speeds like 1.25 or 1.50 or 2.00 that buys me time to watch more videos and help me to skip boring parts when I do this in vlc , I almost have no problem except the bad looking user interphase but when I use Media player classic 4 problems faced me I managed solve some and other I did not
1- high pitch sound solved by using internal audio renderer
2- Subtitle which do not sync with the Time solved by using Vs filter
3-while using Vs filter font looks strange in full screen by doubling resolution of subtitles
4-Frame rate drops like a freeze every 3 seconds that I could not solve
I tried changing the standard direct show video renderer but neither of the choices helped me I installed haali media splitter and madvr they did not solve my problem
SO now is the question how to watch high speed playback videos without Frame rate drops in Media player classic and without messing with configuration
Good to know also that I am using a laptop which works on switchable graphics memory 2 graphic cards
1-intel hd 4000 updated to the latest driver
2-amd 7730m which updated to the latest amd driver too

High speed play back problems Empty Re: High speed play back problems

For subtitles you could try XySubFilter, but that probably has the same sync issues as the internal renderer.

I don't get any issues with framedrops here. I don't know exactly how it works with AMD switchable graphics, but you should be able to choose somewhere which GPU is used. If you use madvr, then you can press Ctrl+J to get statistics. Check if the queues go empty or if rendertimes are too high. For example at 40 fps, the maximum rendertime should be below 1000/40=25 ms.
