Help needed: "MPC-HC could not render some of the pins in the graph..."
Hello folks,
- I have the Mega k-lite codecs installed (12.4.4) as of 2016-10-13.
- I edit and render my videos with Windows Movie Maker on a 64-bit Windows 7 Home OS.
- The source files are large .avi recordings of gameplay footage.
- The files are rendered to .mp4 using a custom profile at 1080p/60fps at the highest bitrate Windows Movie Maker allows.
- The issue I keep bumping into is as follows:
If the total running time of the video exceeds 60 minutes, the chance of getting the following error when opening the final rendered file is very high.

That error usually means the file is corrupted. Are you able to play it with WMP?
Re: Help needed: "MPC-HC could not render some of the pins in the graph..."
Thank you kindly for your reply.
The file is indeed corrupted and cannot be played by any media player. I'd like to know what the cause is though. Perhaps (and also likely) an issue with Windows Movie Maker?

Yes, it must be an issue with Movie maker. Does the problem occur once the file reaches a certain size?
If you know how to use a command-line tool, then try this package:
https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win32/static/ffmpeg-latest-win32-static.zip
Extract ffplay.exe and open the mp4 file with it:
ffplay "c:\path\to\file.mp4"
This tool shows a lot of information and may give a clue on how broken the file is.
I don't have a solution for you, but it never hurts to collect some information. Maybe someone else knows what is wrong.

Re: Help needed: "MPC-HC could not render some of the pins in the graph..."
Thanks again for your reply.
I suspect the problem occurs when the file reaches 4GB or more. EDIT: Just got the error for rendering a 48minute video which was 4.77GB in size.
I'll have a look at the command-line tool some time this week. Much obliged!
