K-Lite Codec Pack - unavailable HEVC
Hello.
When I install the latest version of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack I can't check HEVC in Hardware Acceleration window. It doesn't available in LAV Video -DXVA 2 copy-back as well as DXVA 2 native. I can only chose H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2. My question is: why? My graphic card is Radeon 7850, drivers 16.40, OpenCL version 21.19.151.3. Despite of unsupported HEVC in mentioned menu, when I watch movie coded in H.265 usage of CPU doesn't exceed 10% as if GPU took the lead. Does anybody could tell me what is all about? Have I got this hardware acceleration with HEVC or not? If yes -why I couldn't chose it? If no - how to obtain it?

Re: K-Lite Codec Pack - unavailable HEVC
That card does not support hardware acceleration of HEVC video. In case of AMD, you would need a Fury or the latest RX 4x0.
10% CPU usage is not unusual. There can be large differences in 'difficulty'. I have a 1080p 24fps HEVC video here that only uses 5% CPU. But I also have an UltraHD 50 fps video that needs more than 100% with software decoding.
