HEVC subs decode failure
With the latest klcp_update_1221_20160617 attempts to play fansubs fail to show the subs you can hear the audio but the subs don't show. I tested by play another subs of the same anime not HEVC coded and the subs are visible. So I think something in 1221 update broke or doesn't detect HEVC subs.

The latest version is 12.2.2
If the problem also happens with that version, then give me a link where I can download the same file.

Re: HEVC subs decode failure
Yes, the problem also is present in the latest 12.2.2 version. The anime is OverLord through torrent. I have to lookup the file to find the right torrent link so you can try to download and see the problem. I do know up to 12.19/20 (if I recall) anime subs with HEVC subs had no issues.Admin wrote:The latest version is 12.2.2

Re: HEVC subs decode failure
I will wait for your torrent link.
Check that subtitles are enabled and that the correct track is selected:
Menu > Play > Subtitle Track
Check that subtitles are enabled and that the correct track is selected:

No changes were made I used the same setting as previous codec-where is the menu your referring to at? I use WMP in Windows 7x64 Ult to watch the anime.Admin wrote:I will wait for your torrent link.

That menu belongs to MPC-HC. In case of WMP, you can select the subtitle track through the icon of LAV Splitter. It is a white icon that appears in the notification area in the right-bottom corner of your screen.
Re: HEVC subs decode failure
Codec Tweak Tool > Preferred Decoders > Reset > click NO to use recommended values
The result should be that HEVC is set to "Use Merit".

Re: HEVC subs decode failure
Ok, that fixed it for Overlord. I did also notice before doing this that some other subs not HEVC when played in WMP you can hear the audio but was black screen but after the reset they now play. Was there something changed in the installation that changed this feature to cause this problem?

Re: HEVC subs decode failure
These tweaks are normally applied automatically.
There was a bug in 12.1.5 which caused the tweaks to be skipped. That has been fixed for future versions.
