Windows 10 is resetting codecs Empty Windows 10 is resetting codecs

This morning my Window 10 announced it had a problem with a couple of default App settings namely .avi and .mp4. and reset them to Movies & TV from Klite. How does one prevent this? And just now .mov and .wmv???

Update to the latest version of the codec pack. Then it should not happen anymore.

I saw the checkboxes in 12.1.5 mega  for win 7 and win 10 codec and left them checked as they were. Hope this was correct.
