Is this a codec error or something else
I have been using "Media Player Classic" (MPC) v 6.4.9.1. (Rev 107) in conjunction with the basic codec pack for donkeys now but lately i'm getting an error pop up and i'm unsure if it's a codec or MPC issue, the error i'm getting is as follows:
If i click the close buttom it will play fine as far as the video goes but i have no audio, if i re-encode it using "WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe 5.9.0.249" it will play both audio and video back fine but i can't be bothered to encode every movie every time, I have upgraded to the latest version 12.1.0 and it still does the same, i am running win 7 U x64, i THINK it only happens with avi files but i cannot be 100% sure, can anyone work out if it's a codec or MPC issue, having said that when i selct VLC to play them it does fine, so i guess i have answered my own question, anyone have any idea how to solve the problem

Re: Is this a codec error or something else
Use the Standard version of the codec pack. That includes a much newer version of Media Player Classic.
This error means there is a problem with your sound driver. My first suggestion would be to update that driver.
Alternatively you can try:
Codec Tweak Tool > Audio Output > select "Stereo"

OK tried the tweak tool and no good so downloading the standard version as i type, will also check out motherboards latest audio driver as well as that has not been updated in donkeys
