Re: 4K Video Playback
4K video needs a very fast CPU. Certainly when it is HEVC video. How high is the CPU usage during playback? Your laptop is probably just not fast enough.
Re: 4K Video Playback
CPU usage remains below 23% during playback. But while playing in full-screen after 2 to 2:50 mins playback suddenly goes above 45% and laptop goes sluggish and starts to freeze.
But if i reduce MPC-HC size as shown in the image below it plays smoothly till the end.

Re: 4K Video Playback
Does the laptop have both Intel and NVIDIA GPU? Then right-click on mpc-hc64_nvo.exe and choose the desired GPU. Try the Intel one first.

Re: 4K Video Playback
It can also be named mpc-hc64.exe
Can you copy this information here? Then I can see which driver versions you have.

Re: 4K Video Playback
Here is a tool to monitor your GPU:
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
Use it during playback and check if you see anything change at the moment at which the video problem occurs. For example a different clockspeed.
