Dropped frames with low CPU usage Empty Dropped frames with low CPU usage

Post by ricochet90 Tue Apr 12, 2016 4:44 am

When I try to run the 1080p HEVC tomsk video part 2 found here (http://www.elecard.com/en/download/videos.html) I get dropped frames using MPC HC using software acceleration as my GPU doesn't support HW acceleration of HEVC.

It happens with some other HEVC videos too,but that's the one I tried the most.

It's weird because I've been monitoring my CPU usage and it never goes over 50% while playing HEVC video (even 10 bit x264 video goes above 70% and runs perfectly fine),same thing happens with standalone MPC without k lite.

I'm no expert, but dropped frames are not supposed to occur only when the CPU can't generate the frames? and the CPU shouldn't be at 100% all the time? It seems that my CPU has some power to spare but the frames keep dropping.

Can anyone tell me why this happens? and if I can do something to fix it?

These are my specs.
Windows 10 x64
AMD APU A8 4555m with HD 7600g Radeon GPU
8gb RAM DDR3 1333mhz
Using the latest 12.0.9 version of the codec pack

Here is my log

There seems to be something wrong with the framerate information in this file. I will investigate it.

There is nothing wrong with your system.
