Problem with game

Hello, I have a problem and i read it, that codecs its the problem. But i already installed the newest codecs, and i still got black screen, please help me !!

What is the filename of the .exe of this game?

Codec Tweak Tool > Codec and Filter Management > DirectShow
Disable LAV Splitter, LAV Video, and LAV Audio. Does that solve the problem?

If that works, then I can tell you how to blacklist the game, so that you don't need to disable any codecs.

You can repeat the same for the other codecs from the pack. That should help figure out which one is related to the problem.

What is the name of the game, and where did you read it may be codec related? Any details could be helpful in finding the cause.

The name of the game is All Star Strip Poker

That game does not use any DirectShow or VFW codecs. So the codec pack does not have any effect on it. Video is black even on a clean Windows install.

The game disc contains AVI files, but they are not valid video files in a known format.

It works on Windows XP.

guys have you find a solution ? i also tried this game and i have the same problem! admin how you managed to make it work with xp? i try torun it through compatability mode still nothing! please help and thanks in advance

I used an actual Windows XP installation inside a virtual machine. Compatibility mode is not enough.
