It loads the external audio file automatically if you give it the same name as the video file.

For example:
moviename.mkv
moviename.mp3

In the folder with files, video and audio files are with the same name.
I will try to reinstall, leave all the default settings.

You can also do it manually.

MPC-HC menu > File > Open File
Select the audio file in the Dub: field. Then it will open both the selected video and the audio file.
