Can't update to latest version

I received the following message on my computer, so I went and updated to the latest version of the mega pack:

KLCP Update Check

You are currently using version 11.2.0 of the K-Lite Codec Pack.

Two updates are available:
version 12.0.1 (complete installer) (released 12 days ago)
version 12.0.2 (update installer for 12.0.1 and newer) (released 5 days ago)

You can update by first using the complete installer (11.2.0 to 12.0.1) and then the update installer (12.0.1 to 12.0.2).

Then it had buttons to click to download so I clicked the first one which took me here:

I did the install, declining all third party items and it said things went fine. Then I went to download the update and it said k lite was not installed on my computer.

Was this a bogus message I should have ignored? Or is there something I missed that I should have done.

It is a strange anomaly. Should normally not happen. Run the 12.0.1 installer again. That will probably fix it.

I tried it twice and it did the same thing.

If it matters what was installed was called the Combined Community Codec pack 2015-10-18 not K Lite.

Is this the legitimate file?

That is a completely different codec pack.

Was that the correct link? if not, then what is the correct link? If so, you guys need to fix your link.

There are no links to Combined Community Codec pack on our website. I have no idea how you ended up with that.

Is that connected with you or not?

If it is, then there IS a bad link on your site and if it isn't you've got someone sending out messages to your users saying that they need to update to a bogus link.

Either way you guys need to fix it.

That is a correct link and it contains downloads for K-Lite.

selected mirror 1 - sent to pages full of spam links and no obvious path to codec
selected mirror 2 - sent to pages with slightly less odd links...same result.

If there is a correct link on these pages they are very well disguised.

How do I proceed here? Please help.
