No sound on Mk4 or MP4 files

Hi,

Someone has given me some mkv and mp4 files but l cannot get any sound to play on the movies.
I have ffdshow codec and K-lite Code player but still not luck.

Any help would really be appreciated as to how get sound working , video is fine.

Copy MediaInfo details for one of those files here. Then I can see what kind of audio it contains.

You can probably fix it by removing ffdshow and then re-installing the codec pack.

Hi,

I have done re-installed and still no luck.

Video stream: AVc
Audio: AC-3 / AAC

Does this help?

Those audio formats should play without trouble. Are other files playing correctly with sound?

During playback, look at MPC-HC menu > Play > Files. You should see "LAV Splitter Source", "LAV Video Decoder", and "LAV Audio Decoder".
