MPC-HC wrongly opens despite diff file association
I don't have .ra or .ram (RealMedia) associated with MPC-HC (x64), but clicking on a URL opens it anyway, which causes a "Crashed" error, as AFAIK RealMedia is still not supported in the 64-bit version.
I tried to install RealAlternative, which includes an old Gabest version of MPC, but despite the change in file association this still occurs.
HP CQ2014 (built 2011), Win7 Home Premium customized, other info upon request.

Re: MPC-HC wrongly opens despite diff file association
Regular RealMedia files (.rmvb) are also supported by the 64-bit version. No extra software required. .ram files are playlists, those may indeed not work.
Can you copy the link that you used here? Then I can check what causes the crash.

Re: MPC-HC wrongly opens despite diff file association
For instance, the ABC news jingles from a tribute site in PA:
http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/oldabc.ram
http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/contem.ram
http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/enter.ram
http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/info.ram
http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/fm.ram
All the files contain are http (NOT pnm) links to .ra files with the same names.
Note that if they are saved as local files the Gabest MPC that comes with RealAlternative plays them as the current association says. Only when they are clicked from the page in the browser (Firefox 43, currently) do the links get handed to MPC-HC64.
If clicked from the page in IE (11), they're sent to WMP, which despite RealAlternative being installed does not play them either.

Re: MPC-HC wrongly opens despite diff file association
The crash should be fixed in this version of MPC-HC64:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/f0hclg
Your links are now playable here. With just the codec pack installed.
