This happened very recently i have no idea how (Maybe after the nvidia driver update)
The render times are very high 40-60 were as usually it's around 10 and dropped frames are usually just 1

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Help would be great and I also have a slow start up issue as well

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
First install the 11.4.4 update. That contains the latest version of madVR. That should work better. Another madVR update is expected today or tomorrow.
Which madVR settings are you using? Slow startup can be caused by madVR compiling the OpenCL kernel. That happens when you use for example NNEDI. It should theoretically only happen once, because the result is cached, but for a few people it seems to be done every time. Might be a NVIDIA bug (on Win10). But the developer of madVR is investigating it.

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
I recently downgraded but that didn't help.(I updated again now)
The startup issue has been going on for months even after having it installed on a SSD.I can confirm it get's initiated in fullscreen mode, rendering times jumps through the roof.
MadVR
I followed a guide,few months back
chroma upscaling - Jinc
Image downscaling - Catmull-rom
Image upscaling - Jinc
Smooth motion - Enabled - only if there would motion judder without it
Is there a option to save all the setting log?
I switched to VLC as default until I get it fixed (I already miss MPC)

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Instead of switching to VLC you could also just select a different video renderer in MPC.
Does it also happen if you disable smooth motion?
You can export the settings from this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\madshi\madVR

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Right now, that is basically what i did and it's perfectly fine gain but the startup issues is uneffected
I hope I didn't export the wrong thing

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
I am not really able to help you with this problem. You should make a debug log for the developer of madVR. He can then analyze what goes wrong.
Here is a topic on another forum where you can contact the developer of madVR:

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
I can send it to him for you if you want.
Get latest madVR here:
http://madshi.net/madVR.zip
(currently 0.89.5, same as included in K-Lite 11.4.5)
Overwrite the files installed by the pack. Replace madvr.ax with madvr(debug).ax
Play a file a reproduce the problem. A few seconds is enough. Then close the player. A log file should be located on your desktop. Zip/rar the file (because it is huge) and upload it somewhere.
You could also test older versions of madVR to check when the problem first occured. You can get older versions here:
http://www.videohelp.com/software/madVR/old-versions#download
I suggest you try 0.88.16 first, as there were some big changes after that.

I think it happened after a driver update from Nvidia, not after updating k-lite codec pack but i will check older versions of Madvr
I tried 0.88.16 and same issue but strangely the screen tearing issue took a while to kick in

I have send it. It may take a few days before he can analyze it. He is mostly working on madVR during the weekends.
Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Thanks a lot,I will be waiting for the response,in the meantime i could have switched the Haali, seems it does a good job as well

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
I don't really recommend using Haali renderer. That is mostly only useful for old low-end computers. Better would be EVR-CP.
Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Got an answer. You should use a tool like GPU-Z to monitor the GPU usage and clocks during playback. We suspect that your GPU goes into a low power state (because it has relatively little work to do). That makes the rendertimes go high and cause problems.
One way to force the GPU to stay in high performance mode is to use NVIDIA CUVID hardware acceleration in LAV Video decoder.
You should also try the fullscreen exclusive option.

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
-CUVID Hardware acceleration already enabled
-Exclusive mode fixes it but i really don't like the interface, initially why I disabled it but it was completely fine back then
-GPU usage is same in both exclusive and non exclusive mode.Around 10% increase from 0%

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Can you also try the "Enable windowed overlay" option?
Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
I tried enabling it with exclusive mode active at the same time and also soly but couldn't see anything different (while soly the render times go high again)

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
Another test to do.
1) First reset the settings (with the codec tweak tool)
2) Choose Jinc AR and disable fullscreen exclusive. Don't change any other settings!
3) Test
4) Try the "use Direct3D 11 for presentation" option
5) Test
NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Maximum pre-rendered frames > Should be set to "use 3D application setting"

It's funny how the most simplest test was the solution, nvidia settings were already set to that as default.
I did some double checking and it seems with the "Use Direct3D 11 for presentation" option disabled,it goes back to haywire again.
Thanks a lot for going through the trouble and days for solving it!
The startup issue still persists, got any idea why it's still happening?

Re: Very high rendering times and dropped frames
I don't think it's MadVR,just opening up the player it starts up instantly but opening a file is slow,
-Changing the directshow to EVR-CP and relaunching it's the same
-Moving the media to my SSD and opening it up from there is slow as well
I will Update it and check just in case
Edit
It's the same
