hello every one Very Happy ,

when i try to play 720p or 1080p videos on my laptop it plays but with a lot of lag and this happens in all media players i know such as vlc except windows media player, but because wmp can't handle with .aas subtitle i installed k-lite codec pack mega for wmp, now i can see the subtitle file in wmp but the video playback is bad and lagging Crying or Very sad  i don't want to uninstall the codec pack because the subtitle issue and also because i love mpc-hc Cool and i really prefer it on wmp but it's also plays the videos with a lag .

are there any configurations i can do to make mpc-hc plays those videos without any lag?

also if i download the lastest codec pack would that solve the problem? because i'm using mpc-hc 1.7.1.247 version and i don't want to update it because i have a slow internet speed Mad.

The solution is to use MPC-HC and to use DXVA2 (native) hardware acceleration. Yes, I recommend updating the codec pack. You can use the Standard version of the pack if you want, which is a smaller download.

WMP also uses DXVA, but once you install the subtitle filter, it can't use that anymore. That is why it also started lagging. MPC-HC can handle subtitles even with DXVA enabled.
