MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
Hi there. I have a screen recording application for android 5.0, it's called "Screen Stream Mirroring" and it is able to record locally or stream to mediaplayers/streaming sites. The problem comes when i try to import the local recordings to Sony Vegas Pro 13. It tells me the file isn't compatible.
I've searched a lot about it and i always end up in a page telling me to pay for some software to convert the file before importing it. I know there has to be a way around this (with no previous file conversion, please) because i had similar problems importing Mirillis Action! files, but i solved it changing the config of default mp4/avi codecs to libavc in directshow filters or something like that, can't remember very well.
I recorded some footage and did a mediainfo txt which i will post in a spoiler tag below. I can't change the file format nor any settings in the Android aplication, so the solution must be on PC side. If anyone knows any way to solve this i would love to hear it. (And if you are able to explain why does this happen, so i can figure out similar problems in the future, that'd be great!)

Re: MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
Do you have QuickTime installed? Sony Vegas sometimes uses that for importing files. Install it if you don't have it, or re-install latest version if you have an old one.
Re: MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
Yes. I thought it would be wise to have all codecs updated before posting anything.
Anyway, i don't see the relation between Android video on Vegas and QuickTime codecs. Is MP4 Apple's property?

Re: MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
It uses QuickTime because that provides decoders and encoders for various formats that are often used during video editing. That it happens to be made by Apple is irrelevant. That your phone uses Android is also irrelevant.
Vegas does not use DirectShow codecs, so the codecs from the codec pack are not used by it.
Are you able to play the files with the QuickTime Player?

Re: MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
Yeah, QuickTime doesn't seem to have any problem playing them. Full speed, full size and color, stereo sound...
Isn't there any extra codec i can download for Vegas or something like that?

Re: MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
Are you able to import other MP4 files? What happens it you rename your file to .MOV?
If you need a free converter, use Handbrake or Avidemux.

Re: MP4 and Sony Vegas Pro 13
I don't use Vegas myself, so I can't be of much help.
The video is 60 frames per second. Perhaps Vegas uses lower framerate in its preview. Or you use wrong framerate when exporting.
