can't possibly figure out how to enable DXVA
I have 3 different PCs here, and can't seem to enable DXVA in any of them

Is your file 10-bit H.264? Hardware acceleration only works with normal 8-bit H.264.
Do you have an AMD graphics card? DXVA is broken in the Catalyst 15.7.x drivers. You must disable automatic driver updates in Windows 10 (with for example ShutUp10 tool). Then install the 15.8 beta driver.

No. is 8-bit. All my files are 8bit.
Not AMD.
The 3 PCs have different configurations and the 3 don't work DXVA.
So from the print should have worked?

Check that a compatible video renderer is used.
Options > playback > Output
Recommended is EVR-CP.
When using DXVA2-native you also can't have any filters in between the decoder and renderer. So you can't use ffdshow video processor or VSFilter. DXVA2-copyback does not have that limitation.
