MPC-HC play original BluRay discs
I don't really get it why no version of windows OS (in my case 10) won't natively play BluRays... this is just a plain stupid limitation that is there to hinder everyones computer usage...
Anyway a quick question is there any codec which will allow playback with menu of unripped original BluRays in my favourite player Media Player Classic?

That is because BluRays disc contain all kinds of protections that prevent playback on unauthorized players. It is to prevent discs from being copied/ripped.
Playback works in MPC in combination with AnyDVD. Menus are not supported yet.

Re: MPC-HC play original BluRay discs
I understand this BUT taking in to account that there are so many cheap physical BluRay players available on the market that can do this job so well AND there is not even one program for windows that can do it in at least similar way is beyond imagination...
I realize that there are some paid players on windows that "sort of" work but to be blunt they suck! either menu functions aren't working properly or something else is broken AND 99% of software is over-bloated, ugly and basically rubbish to use...
Sorry that I'm angry but it really gets to me... I would gladly pay for real solution for MPC-HC if there was any in a form of simple plugin or something like that...

You can't compare hardware and software players. It is impossible for open source software players to get certified.
Menus are difficult to support because they can use Java, so menus are basically generated by an application. There is some work going on in an open source project (libbluray) to support menus. Development is slow because it is done based on reverse engineering (as no specification is publicly available). VLC player already uses it, so you could try that. You probably need to install the Java runtime first. It is possible MPC-HC will use it too in the future, but development is slow and there are still technical hurdles to overcome.

What I mean is that after so many years of BluRay being on the market I expected someone to already have hacked (disected) it and created the software windows version upon it. I mean, when you look around there are some pretty smart people out there that can hack hardware like it's piece of cake.
Oh well if it can't be done then it can't. It's a real shame though, considering that this all this anti piracy reason is absolutely rubbish as all the blurays are getting ripped (same with games) it just is pointless.

Re: MPC-HC play original BluRay discs
The protection has already been bypassed. But the generic decryption keys that are used by for example AnyDVD must be kept secret, because otherwise they can be blocked.
The difficulty with the menus is that each disc is different. So main problem for the developers is having enough discs to test the software. There is progress, but it is slow. Remember that open source developers do their work for free.
My suggestion would be to forget about bluray and just download the rips.

This way they push people to do rip disks... Thanks for your input.
