Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise (Microsoft Windows Media Player) - No Subtitle Hevc & Change MediaInfo from Lite to Full:
Hello, KLite Forum / KLite Users.
I'm using:
- Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise X64.
- Microsoft Windows Media Player (aka Windows Media Player).
- KLite Mega Pack + Update Pack.
PC Settings:
- IntelCore I7-4770K.
- 16 RAM.
- NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780 - Latest Driver.
- DirectX12.
So I don't think it can be the fold off my PC.
Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise (Microsoft Windows Media Player) - No Subtitle Hevc:
When I try to play a .mkv Hevc video, I don't get the following Subtitles to work:
- SSA / ASS.
- PGS.
- SRT.
Even when I have KLite Mega Pack installed and configured into the CodecTweakTool.
These are my CodecTweakTool Settings:
Preferred Splitters:
- MKV (X86 - X64): Lav Splitter.
Preferred Decoders:
- H.264 (X86 - X64): FFDShow (Also tryed Lav Video).
- Hevc (X86 - X64): Lav Spliter.
By the way - Missing DXVA Codec:
Where is the VC-1 DXVA Codec from FFDShow?
I only have Microsoft and LAV Video, and before I had when I installed FFDShow external:
DXVA Codec.
Media Foundation:
Everthing Checked.
Example Download Video with the Codec - Intro Sword Art Online II:
https://mega.co.nz/#!O4hy3BrD!zq8M08oLxUF0hbyoZdgJxYMzhqCVRHkk2VwU6xecwpk
Please play onto 39 Seconds for the Intro, there are the Subtitles (when you play it into VLC or MPC-HC)
But Windows Media Player is the thing for me.
Change MediaInfo from Lite to Full:
Is there away to Change the Right Button from the Mouse from a Video example MKV to the Full MetaData Version in place of the MetaData Lite version?
Greetings,
DJHallo.
P.S. I really want to use it for Microsoft Windows Media Player (aka Windows Media Player), because I think its better then VLC and even MPC-HC,
because I think those players are using somekind of a white overlay about the Screen and I don't like that.

Re: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise (Microsoft Windows Media Player) - No Subtitle Hevc & Change MediaInfo from Lite to Full:
To make the subtitles work:
1) Codec Tweak Tool > Media Foundation > disable for .mkv
2) Codec Tweak Tool > Media Foundation > select "Use Merit" (the installer set that by default)
If you want hardware acceleration, use LAV Video decoder. Ffdshow is old and buggy for hardware acceleration.

You should also be getting correct colors with MPC-HC and VLC. Does white look like light grey and pure black like dark grey?

Just a White Color, not the normal Colors like Windows Media Player.Admin wrote:You should also be getting correct colors with MPC-HC and VLC. Does white look like light grey and pure black like dark grey?
Also can you please make it work with Windows Media Player, because I think its so much better then the other two.
And maybe a possible way to MediaInfo and stuff what I descrypt above.
2) Codec Tweak Tool > Media Foundation > select "Use Merit" (the installer set that by default)
I can't find this option.
Don't you mean: Preffered Splitters > select "Use Merit" X64 MKV it doesn't show Subtitle into Windows Media Player.
Or if you ment: Preferred decoders there is No Use Merit into it.

Re: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise (Microsoft Windows Media Player) - No Subtitle Hevc & Change MediaInfo from Lite to Full:
2) I meant Preferred Decoders at the bottom left. You MUST use "Use Merit", setting a specific decoder will break subtitles!
Subtitles should work just fine in WMP with that single Media Foundation tweak I mentioned, plus default settings of the pack.
I am not sure what you mean with the white color. Could you perhaps make a screenshot? Did you also have this problem in a previous version of Windows?
The right-click menu shows the standard MediaInfo output. There are no options to change that. The "Lite" part only applies to the simplified user interface. It uses the standard MediaInfo DLL file.

There is no option to change it into Merit "Preferred Decoders" there is only:
MKV: Microsoft - Lav Filter - FFDShow.
Hevc: Lav Filter - FFDShow.

I can't show that because when you make a screenshot it will look normal.
MediaInfo:
Can't you make into the next version an option into CodecTool to choose one out of the two Full or Lite to fix this problem?
Even when I try to Install MediaInfo Full it doesn't show into the Menu anymore, because the Lite version is there.

Re: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise (Microsoft Windows Media Player) - No Subtitle Hevc & Change MediaInfo from Lite to Full:
Just install the codec pack without MediaInfo and then install the "full" MediaInfo version. If you do Advanced/Expert mode install of the codec pack, then you can specify what it installs.

I see the problem. Your system is missing "Enhanced Video Renderer" (evr.dll). That is required for the "Use merit" setting.

I have checked it C:\Windows\System32 and the file is there.Admin wrote:I see the problem. Your system is missing "Enhanced Video Renderer" (evr.dll). That is required for the "Use merit" setting.
I tryed it into VMWare a Clean Install and there it just works fine on there , so thanks for that but do you maybe know a fix for my PC, or must I Re-Install my PC?

If the evr.dll file exists, then this Registry script should fix what is missing:

I used you're script and saved it as a Reg file and Open it, but It gives an Error. I don't have the rights to use it even when I used Admin Account.
