pcm multi-channel output instead of stereo on win 10 mcp setup
Hi all
Yesterday I installed win 10 on my htpc.
I did a clean install of windows 7 and then an upgrade to windows 10 pro 64b.
I also installed the latest version of the klm codec including mpc.
The pc is connect through hdmi to my surround processor.
But now I have a small problem playing avi file with imbedded stereo mp3 audio.
When playing the avi file my receiver tells me the input is a multi channel 7.1 input instead of stereo. So the LAV audio switcher transforms it to pcm multi channel.
Now I’m not able to use dolby prologic 2 movie as a output mix on the receiver.
On my previous windows 8.1 setup on the same pc it all worked fine.
Any Idea’s how to change the configuration of mpc so my receiver sees a stereo input signal for the imbedded mp3 audio but the hd audio should be untouched bit steam pass-through.
HD audio files are working fine. My recievers sees the dts hd master input signal.
I think I need a bit stream pass-through for the mp3??

Re: pcm multi-channel output instead of stereo on win 10 mcp setup
Codec Tweak Tool > Audio Output > select stereo
Then click on the Windows Sound Settings button and set your audio device to stereo as well.
Enable bitstreaming for AC3/DTS/DTSHD/etc. Those formats will then be decoded by your receiver (as multi-channel). Everything else from your PC will be send as stereo and can then be upmixed by the receiver.

Thanks for the quick response.
I will try this later. I'm doing a clean install direct to win10.
Clean install windows 10 isfinished.
Your suggestion works.
Many thanks
