Using Basic Codec to play back downloaded MP3 music files
Can someone please explain to me how I would go about downloading MP3 music (from iomoio) to the basic Codec? I haven't tried it yet but I'm not as computer savvy as lots of the people on here. I want to eventually have all my favorite songs downloaded from the iomoio site and record them to a CD. I'm using Windows 8.1 on my desk computer here. My Windows Media player won't let me play any of the music. I thought that maybe Codec would be what I'm looking for? thanks for any help here.

You don't need to do anything special to play an MP3 file. Just download the file and open it.
If Windows Media Player does not play it, what kind of error does it give?

My computer will play the song I downloaded but I can't move it to a program that will create a play list and subsequently enable me to copy the selected songs to a blank CD. My old windows used to do that. That's one of the things I hate with this Windows 8. It's an HP computer and it keeps opening up the HP connected music program. And no one, according to the reviews, likes it. That's why I wondered if Codec would be a program I could download and use it to do what I mentioned above.

You can burn an audio CD with ImgBurn.

Codecs are not used for creating playlists or writing to CD.
