Progressive scan with bottom field order
Hi there
I have a DVD which I am trying to encode but I'm not sure if it's progressive or interlaced. Media info displays the following:
As you can see it says the scan type is progressive but it says scan order is bottom field first. From my understanding isn't field order related to interlaced video ?
Thanks alot
Daniel

Re: Progressive scan with bottom field order
I suspect it simply always shows the scan order (with a default value). I would trust the scan type.
You could test it. Play the DVD with MPC-HC. Assuming you are using LAV Video Decoder, access its settings and set "deinterlacing mode" to "disabled". Restart the player. If the video is interlaced, you should now be able to see it. Horizontal lines, mostly noticeable during fast moving scenes.
