WMP & AVI problem.

Greetings, Windows Media Player plays my AVI files. Some other files it can't play as you know better.
When I install k-lite, it has problems with AVI. I can play the same files on VLC, no problem.
Any workaround? I'd rather have a single player and preferably WMP.

WMP uses codecs from Microsoft for playback of certain video formats. These unfortunately don't always work well.

These are possible solutions for your problem (apply them in this order and test your file after each change):
Codec Tweak Tool > MS Codec Tweaks > Disable MPEG4S and MPEG43 decoder DMO
Codec Tweak Tool > Media Foundation > Disable for .avi
Codec Tweak Tool > Preferred Splitters > Select LAV for .avi

What I did was to install the basic version, instead of the mega which I'd used before and the problem has not appeared.
I've saved your reply in case of future problems. For now, they have acquainted me with the tweak tool.
