MPC-HC or BE won't play 10bit MKVs
Hello,
I just got a new laptop with intel 4600 + gtx860m graphics. I updated both drivers to the latest then I found out I was unable to play 10bit mkvs. Every time it gives me a black screen, no audio either, in both MPC-HC and BE with default settings (evr custom, also I noticed if I change the renderer to others like haali, it will work again). I previously had a laptop with intel 4000 + gt640m, also updated to the latest driver (a week ago), it had no problem play any mkvs. Any ideas? Thank you

Recent NVIDIA and Intel drivers have some bugs. You can solve the problem by disabling P010 and P016 output in the settings LAV Video decoder.

Thank you, that works! Also does that has any effect to the output quality?Admin wrote:Recent NVIDIA and Intel drivers have some bugs. You can solve the problem by disabling P010 and P016 output in the settings LAV Video decoder.

No, it has no effect on quality. The standard renderers do not support those output formats, so they were never used by them. The driver bugs make those renderers accept these formats as input, and then fail miserably.
