VFW/ACM codec questions
I'm using VirtualDub and I would like to ask some things.
1) In the pack it say: XviD [version 1.3.3] but in the info inside the codec it say: xvidecore.dll version 1.4.-127 ("xvid-1.4.0-dev")
What version it really is?
What is the xvid build that you use?
2) There is a reason for not including the latest LAME version 3.99.5?
3) Is it possible to have 64-bit ffdhow VFW codec? Maybe in a separate pack if it cannot be included in the Mega pack?

Re: VFW/ACM codec questions
Xvid is build from the latest source code. It is slightly newer than 1.3.3, but there have not any big changes.
As I recall that version of LAME either didn't work on XP or didn't work on older processors.
A 64-bit version of ffdshow VFW is actually included. However, it is not installed on Windows 8 or above, because it has compatibility issues that cause crashes.

Re: VFW/ACM codec questions
1) Can you specify the real version in the setup instead of 1.3.3 please? It is just to know.
The "-127" in the version is a bug or they use version in this way?
2) I tried on Win XP and it works, maybe it doesn't work on processors without some instructions support but there can be a check in the setup to choose automatically the version to use?
3) Ah sorry, I was just see it missing in Windows 8 64-bit and thought it was removed on all OS.

Re: VFW/ACM codec questions
The only correct version is 1.3.3. The 1.4.-127 version is just a bogus placeholder version they use during development. You should just ignore it.
