Subtitles problem
So, I'm using the latest Mega version (in Windows XP), and I never had a problem... until I installed BSPlayer. When I installed it, it affected the MPC for some reason... the subtitles' resolution changed to 800x600 (I fixed that one), and there are lines skipped in the subtitles (they are not always skipped, but something always gets skipped). And the last one is my problem, I've uninstalled both K-Lite & BSPlayer, re-installed K-Lite, and I still have the same issue! How can I fix it?

Re: Subtitles problem
My guess is that BSPlayer installed some old version of VSFilter. The codec pack won´t replace that if it is already installed.
Codec Tweak Tool > Generate Log
That should show where it is installed. If not, try searching for vsfilter.dll

Re: Subtitles problem
I searched for vsfilter, deleted it (it was in a DirectVobSub folder), and re-installed K-Lite, but still the same.
Other than the K-Lite Codec Pack in the Program Files, what else is related to it? Perhaps if I could delete everything related to it, and re-install it again, I could solve my problem. Or, if there is anything else to install on top of it to fix it.

MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > select either VMR-7 or VMR-9 (renderless)
MPC-HC options > Playback > enable "Use the build-in subtitle renderer"
If that should gives the problem, then could you upload a subtitle file for me that has the problem? Then I can test it on my computer. Maybe there is a bug in MPC-HC.

Re: Subtitles problem
I'm using Haali, the VMR-7/9 don't play well for me.
"Use the build-in subtitle render" is already enabled.
Here is a subtitle file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/incm2xg716rtmom/Spider-Man%203.srt?dl=0
It's not the only one, and it doesn't do it with Greek only. The same happens with English subs.

Re: Subtitles problem
The internal subtitle renderer is not compatible with Haali renderer. So it won't be used even if its option is enabled. The texture resolution option in MPC-HC that you mentioned previously also only applies to the internal renderer. In your case it will use DirectVobSub (=VSFilter) for the subtitles. You should see that in the MPC-HC filter list during playback. Menu > Play > Filters.
Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and delete the following keys if they exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\vsfilter_is1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\xy-VSFilter_is1
After that do a fresh install of the codec pack. Then it will install a proper version of DirectVobSub that should correctly handle your subtitles.

Re: Subtitles problem
That's strange, because if I disable it, the subs are not displayed...Admin wrote:The internal subtitle renderer is not compatible with Haali renderer. So it won't be used even if its option is enabled.

Filters currently loaded:
- Default DirectSound Device
- Απόδοση βίντεο Haali
- Audio Switcher
- LAV Video Decoder
- ffdshow Audio Decoder
- LAV Splitter Source
I found the first one (and deleted it), but the second one wasn't there. I re-installed it, but the issue remains...Admin wrote:Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and delete the following keys if they exist:

Re: Subtitles problem
Try the following steps:
- Uninstall K-Lite Codec Pack.
- Download the latest stable build of MPC-HC from http://mpc-hc.org/downloads/. Choose to "Reset settings" during installation.
- Uninstall MPC-HC and choose to delete MPC-HC settings.
- Download K-Lite Codec Pack v10.9.0. During installation, choose to "Reset all settings to their defaults" in the "Additional Tasks and Options" window, and select "Video Mixing Renderer 9 (renderless)" and "Store settings in INI file instead of the Registry" options in the "MPC-HC Configuration" window.

Re: Subtitles problem
Installing another MPC-HC is pointless. The codec pack is able to completely reset its settings.
MPC-HC options > Subtitles > uncheck "Allow dropping some subpictures if the queue is running late"

Re: Subtitles problem
Tried both suggestions, still same problem... :/

Re: Subtitles problem
It goes around 30-40% during playback.

Re: Subtitles problem
Then it is not performance related.
I have no idea what is causing your problem. There have not been any other reports of MPC-HC skipping subtitles for a simple SRT file as far as I know. Neither here or on the MPC-HC bug tracker.

Re: Subtitles problem
I see... Well, thanks for trying to help! I was planning to format my PC in the near future, so maybe that will solve my problem.
