GPU doesn't go into Idle when videos in MPC are paused !!
Hey guys,
I usually leave videos opened and minimized to be resumed on demand but I noticed that my GPU still consumes high power even when the videos in MPC (only) are paused in the background!
It doesn't help changing its HW Decoder into DXVA2 or None!
I tried VLC and the problem doesn't exist, so it must be with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack!
However, I reinstalled it with the default settings but nothing has changed!
I use Windows 7 x64 Ultimate with the latest Nvidia Drivers and K-Lite version!
Any way to fix this please?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Salaam

Re: GPU doesn't go into Idle when videos in MPC are paused !!
That does not happen here. GPU usage is low even during playback.
It is because you are using SVP. It might also happen with some madVR options. When certain GPU functionality is used by an application, the GPU goes into high performance mode. It doesn't throttle down until you close the application, or if the user of the GPU resources tells the GPU it no longer needs it.
This is not the fault of the codec pack. It is something that needs to be fixed by SVP.
