Issues with windows 10.
Yes, I know it's a beta.
Worked fine in 9860.
In 9879, less so.
It seems to break windows itself.
My pc does double duty as a pc & htpc.
I generally use mpc-hc to watch stuff on my second screen, lg plasme tv)
Never before had any issues, until 9879.
I use essentially the taskbar setup from winxp, ie; no pins & quicklaunch.
I now get the following issues. Icons disappear from taskbar. Quicklaunch becomes unusable. Start menu becomes unusable.
There are no error messages.
Thanks.

Re: Issues with windows 10.
How is that related to the codec pack? There are various icon and menu related bugs in Win10 itself.
Re: Issues with windows 10.
I don't know exactly what it's related to. I thought this was the forum for mpc-hc...??
As it stands, the only video player that doesn't break windows, other than windows media played itself, seems to be the portable version of vlc.
All well and good, but I prefer the functionality of mpc-hc.

Re: Issues with windows 10.
The bug tracker for MPC-HC can be found here:
https://trac.mpc-hc.org/report/9
But this isn't a bug in MPC-HC, so reporting it to them is pointless. You should use the feedback tool in Win10 to report it to Microsoft. They need to fix it.

Re: Issues with windows 10.
Oh you can be absolutely certain that I have complained to them as well, loudly and frequently... although they don't seem to care very much. I hold out hope that the next release will fix it, but....
Thanks.
Thanks.
