how to play sup subtitles
I have a series of Blu-Ray rips of a TV show and they all have sup subtitle files. I have tried every way I can think of to get MPC to use the sup format and have not succeeded. Is there any way that they can be used to view the subs???

Re: how to play sup subtitles
MPC-HC should be able to load such subtitles automatically when using the internal subtitle renderer. That should be used by default, except when using Windows XP. You need to select a different video renderer in that case.
MPC-HC Options > Playback > Output > select a compatible video renderer. On Windows XP, for example Video Mixing Renderer 9 (renderless)

running MPC 1.7.7.42 with K-Lite mega 1082 on win 7 using MADvr. I have tried loading manual, MPC-HC Options > File> Load subtitle and that will not work. Tried using EVR (custom presenter) and that did not work.

madVR is also compatible, so it should work with that too.
Can you upload one of those files for me? Or point me to a torrent. Then I can test with the exact same file. I only have a few .sup samples and those are all loaded fine.

Re: how to play sup subtitles
sendspace tells me my file is too large. That would be the mkv file (3.5 gigabytes)
plus the sup file (5,443,681) I assume you need both. If so I can send both of them to you if I had any type of email address.

You can use SendSpace for the file. Just copy and paste the download link here.

Re: how to play sup subtitles
Thanks. These subtitles originate from a HD-DVD. Those are a bit different than those from Blu-ray, which are supported by MPC-HC.
You can convert the subtitles to a supported format with SubtitleCreator.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/subtitlecreator/
It is easy. Just open the .sup file and then in the menu choose File > Save VobSub. This will convert the subtitle to .idx/.sub pair. Those will work with MPC-HC and other players.
