K-Lite broke protected video playback!
So I installed the latest K-lite beta full pack (10.7.4 I believe) onto a fresh Windows 10 install. Well, something went wrong, and I can't play Netflix using the native Windows app now!
Naturally, I followed the error code to this page
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/8730
But it didn't help. FYI I'm running a Xonar ST with the lastest uniXonar drivers + no odd settings, on a system with a 7950/4670k, so hardware support shouldn't be an issue.
So naturally I looked at the k-lite pack, as I vaguely remembered an odd popup when I initially configured it... And I noticed something odd.
My "Microsoft Codec Tweaks" Tab is supposed to (and used to) look like this
But instead, the DTV-DVD video decoders are missing!
So I used the repair fuction, and nothing happened. I updated to 10.8, used the repair function, and this popped up.
But nothing was fixed
So... I royally messed something up. I would like to avoid nuking Windows and starting from scratch, so is there any other way I can fix this?
Heres a link to the log.

Re: K-Lite broke protected video playback!
Just to eliminate other problems... I found this potential registry fix
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsdesktop/en-US/b16a608b-18e3-44aa-af5c-6be678e4db98/pumasecureoffreggetting-apo-samples-to-work?forum=mediafoundationdevelopment
But the registry entry didn't even exist in the first place.

Re: K-Lite broke protected video playback!
The problem seems to be that the files of the MS DTV-DVD video decoder are missing. That isn't something that the codec pack did.
The relevant file is msmpeg2vdec.dll. You should be able to restore it with the System File Checker tool. Run this command from an elevated command-prompt: SFC /scannow

Re: K-Lite broke protected video playback!
Ty for the response, I'll try that when I get home.
Netflix playback used to work fine, but this happened when I was mucking about with KLite settings WHILE I was running patched AMD GPU drivers to raise the DVI frequency limit... Which, incidentally, breaks Netflix and protected playback in a different way.
I'll report back If I can replicate the glitch, but it may have been fixed by now.
