Windows 8.1 64 bit Media Center crash
Hi.
I've been having this problem for quite some time and decided to create a post here to see if someone also has this problem and if there's a way to solve it.
When I start a movie in Media Center, it plays ok until there's a subtitle to show. At this point, sometimes it is ok, sometimes it crashes and restarts Media Center.
Do you have any idea of what this may be? In the 32 bit version of Windows 8.1 this does not happen.
I have, of course, the latest version of the codec pack installed.
Thanks!

Re: Windows 8.1 64 bit Media Center crash
Are the crashes random, or can you reproduce it consistently with certain videos?
Try replacing VSFilter64.dll with this version:

They appear to be random and happen with all MKV files. They are all H264 with DTS (passthrough), with .srt subtittles merged with MKVToolnix.
Sometimes when I reboot the PC the crashes start happening, then after a few restarts of Media Center it stops happening and only happen again after a reboot. This is the pattern I observe...
Ok I'll try that! Thanks!

Re: Windows 8.1 64 bit Media Center crash
Well I ran some tests and it seems the problem is solved with this version of the filter!
Are you considering replacing the old file with this one in the codec pack?
Thanks!
