Codec pack gone after sysprep
On any Windows 7 installation, clear up to codec pack 10.40 (full), the codec pack is gone after sysprep, anyone have any insight as to how to keep the codec pack installed after sysprep?

You need to give more details about what you are doing because I don't understand. Do you mean the codec pack is suddenly getting uninstalled?
Re: Codec pack gone after sysprep
I have the codec pack installed, run sysprep on the machine, make an image of it, then when I push that image out to other computers, boot up, the codec pack is no longer registered, for instance, if I wanted to play a dvd, I would have to re-install the codecs. Does that help any?

Re: Codec pack gone after sysprep
Are all files belonging to the codec pack also missing in the created image?
Does other software get included successfully in your image?
I don't have any experience with sysprep. Here is a tutorial for it:

Oh ok, sysprep runs a generalize on different microsoft components, has one for media player, office, etc. The codecs is the only thing I have that doesn't stick, antivirus, web browsers, plugins etc stick, just the codecs get fully reset, was hoping someone else has had this issue and had a lil insight on how to fix.

Re: Codec pack gone after sysprep
Is it possible that Audit Mode was ended prematurely before installation of the pack? Or did things installed _after_ the codec pack end up in the image?
Re: Codec pack gone after sysprep
Don't use the audit mode, image is pretty much setup to push to a machine, boot up, install any missing drivers and then its ready to use, well, aside from reinstalling the codec pack. Don't remember what order I installed everything, but everything is installed, then run sysprep /generalize /oobe, then I just make an image of the hard drive. I have a feeling the windows media player sysprep is where the codec pack is getting killed, if you look under the reg key below, you can see all the different processes that are sysprepped.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\Sysprep\Generalize
Also, I know this probably doesn't have anything todo with your software, which I am a huge fan of, best codec pack out there by far, but I wasn't really sure where else to start this topic.
